City Events Calendar

Evansville's local historical group, The Grove Society, is pleased to offer a community program on "Early Settlement of Union Township."  Historian Ruth Ann Montgomery of Evansville is the guest speaker, and her presentation will include information on the Village of Union’s churches, social organizations, and government. Many of the village's early settlers migrated to Evansville, Cooksville, Rutland and the surrounding area.  Residents of these areas may find the presentation particularly insightful.  This program is a prelude to a tour of Union Baptist Church Cemetery later in the spring. The program, free and open to the public, begins at 6 p.m. Thursday, March 1, at Creekside Place in Evansville.
